Welcoming Steven Flack, Chief Financial Officer of SynergenX

SynergenX is excited to welcome Steven Flack as our new Chief Financial Officer. With over 35 years of financial leadership experience and a track record of guiding both growth-stage and turnaround healthcare businesses, Steve brings a wealth of strategic insight to our executive team as well as a deep commitment to the kind of service-first healthcare that drives everything we do.

A Career Built on Service and Strategy

Steve began his career in finance at Kemper Insurance in Chicago, where he spent 15 years before transitioning into healthcare in the early 2000s. Since then, he’s led finance for businesses in many sectors of the health industry, including occupational health, physical therapy, and autism services for children. His experience spans both private equity-backed and family-owned companies, giving him a unique perspective on what makes healthcare operations sustainable, impactful, and truly patient-centered.

Steve shares, “For me, it’s about making healthcare more accessible and more affordable while still delivering outstanding care. That’s why I was drawn to SynergenX.”

Looking Around Corners

More than simply a numbers guy, Steve sees the role of the CFO as a strategic partner—one who helps a business anticipate what’s ahead and stay grounded in reality while pursuing ambitious growth.

“In my career, I’ve seen businesses thrive and I’ve seen businesses struggle. You grow the most in the hard seasons,” he says. “It’s easy to get out over your skis. Part of my job is to make sure we’re grounded, focused, and ready to scale when the time is right.”

At SynergenX, that means supporting the continued expansion of our remote care model and exploring new ways to deliver customized treatments—such as pre-filled syringes for testosterone therapy—with the same quality and oversight we offer in our clinics.

Leading with Clarity and Care

Steve’s leadership style is built on transparency, mentorship, and a strong sense of partnership.

“Our role in finance is to support the rest of the business,” he explains. “That means being good communicators, understanding the ‘why’ behind what we’re doing, and making sure our operations teams have what they need to succeed. I want to help every member of our team become the best version of themselves.”

He’s also a firm believer in staying close to the work being done in the field. “To truly understand the business, you have to understand what’s happening in the centers. That’s where our mission comes to life.”

Rooted in Purpose

As a purpose-driven company, SynergenX exists to help patients live stronger, more vital lives. That mission resonates deeply with Steve.

“We’re trying to help people become better versions of themselves. That’s always been important to me, personally and professionally,” he says. “Like Zig Ziglar said: You can get everything you want out of life if you will just help others get what they want.”

Steve currently lives in Pennsylvania and spends most of the week in Texas supporting SynergenX’s ongoing growth and operational development.
