The Merriam-Webster dictionary describes the word libido as simply “the desire to have sex.” Hence the colloquial term – “sex drive.” Extremely high or increased sex drive is termed hypersexuality (high libido); low or decreased sexuality is called hyposexuality (low libido). Sex drive can also be affected by medical conditions, medications, lifestyle, relationship issues, and age.
