Product Spotlight: Bellafill

There are a lot of factors that we deal with throughout life, such as beauty products, the environment, stress, and even the sun’s rays, that can cause our skin to age prematurely…especially when it comes to the sensitive skin of the head and neck. And it’s not always this or that causing your face to look older, even the best and most healthy lifestyle may not be enough to battle father time.

Fortunately, medical science always seems to be advancing in our favor, finding new and easier ways for people to look younger by the minute. With all the different creams, anti-aging products, injectables, and surgical procedures out there, we have many options to choose from. This isn’t a bad thing, because there are plenty of good options out there, and it is perfectly safe and alright to seek the image that will make you happy on the inside and out.

As we age, we tend to lose collagen in our face. Facial rejuvenation procedures such as injectable dermal fillers can restore what is lost, and leave you looking and feeling younger. Research shows that a product like Bellafill can help you look younger, giving your skin a more rejuvenated look and feel. And when compared to other dermal fillers such as hyaluronic acid (which often needs to be reinjected every six months), one Bellafill treatment can last up to five years.

What is Bellafill?

Bellafill is a dermal filler approved by the FDA, that reduces the appearance of smile lines, wrinkles, and acne scars. This filler contains synthetic microspheres, a gel based substance called polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), and lidocaine to sooth pain after injection. The PMMA works to metabolize your collagen and make your acne scars, fine lines, and wrinkles fade away over time. This filler does not absorb into the body, which allows it to last longer than other fillers.  Results usually last anywhere from two to five years.

As with almost any injection or procedure, there are possible side effects and risks. Before trying Bellafill, consult with your doctor about the process, and to see if it’s right for you.
